Salary: $82,757 - $92,491 per annum

Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94p/a

Professional development incentive: Allowance of $1500p/a

Reports to: Governance and Policy Manager

About us

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi consists of different sections (Corporate Governance Section, People and Capabilities Section, Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Section and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families Section) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

About the Role

The Data and Research Officer has a key role in the formation and implementation of AHAC’s data governance framework, policy, and standards to ensure compliance with the external legal, regulatory and governance environment in the health sector.

This includes developing, promoting and embedding data governance policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and related documentation across the organisation; and developing data presentations for Staff, Management and Board.

 

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

General:

  • Undertake report building and data analysis as required.
  • Create and present quality reports and data flows to support ongoing reports.
  • Prepare standardised data sets to support analytics.
  • Collect and collate data from training and health care services at different levels of the healthcare system.
  • Contribute to data aggregation and analysis processes to ensure information is safely managed and shared appropriately.
  • Consider population diversity and health inequality and apply culturally relevant and ethical approaches when identifying population health needs.
  • Work to agreed priorities, outcomes, time constraints and assigned resources.
  • Oversee projects and be the lead with a range of different stakeholders.
  • Support the research committee.
  • Support the management of the research plan.
  • Perform other duties as request by your line manager that are reasonably within your capacity and capability.

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following:

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience in creating live reports and dashboards, insights analysis, and supporting the creation of new data models.
  • Developed analytical, investigation and translational skills, including those required to work with the business to create performance and outcomes measurement reports.
  • Experience in working with and interpreting health or health-related data (including mental health, and preferably health service and/or outcome data).
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, including presentation of outcomes in Microsoft Office suite of packages.
  • Knowledge and understandings of research designs and data collection methods used in health research.
  • Highly developed report writing skills and interpersonal skills.

 

Desirable

  • Qualifications in Health Sciences, with focus in Health service systems, data research or similar major.
  • Experience in an Aboriginal community controlled primary health care environment.
