About Us Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.
Anyinginyi Health consists of four different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority. Anyinginyi Health's mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way. Only a short flight from most Australian cities, Tennant Creek is not just a must-see destination renowned for its individual identity and rich cultural heritage but is a remarkable community to set up home in! As a small regional center, Tennant Creek does not have the facilities one would find in larger country towns like Katherine or Alice Springs however it does provide for all the basics that most people require. About the Role New Directions project aims to deliver antenatal, postnatal and early childhood services targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with children under five years (prior to school age covering the Barkly Region. More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to): - Establishing/maintaining connections with
- Develop resources and key networks following the NTKPI's
- Develop and coordinate external support networks
- Provide outcome through a collaborative wraparound culturally responsive framework.
- Support individual clients holistically to access support services.
- Use evidence to identify areas for improvement and scope ideas and solutions for consideration.
- Develop partnerships with key agencies to support the delivery of services where appropriate/possible.
- Develop Service response to address gaps and propose acquisition, reform, and project and implementation strategy.
About You To be successful in this position, you must have experience managing projects and budgets, possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, have respect for Aboriginal culture and diversity, and be able to demonstrate leadership as well as work in team settings and autonomously. Desirable Qualities: - Formal qualifications in public health, health promotion, health sciences, project management and/ or similar experience or expertise in project management.
- Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to complete various official forms and letters on behalf of clients and enter accurate notes in client files.
- Experience driving 4WD vehicles and a willingness to travel to remote communities.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.
- Knowledge of social and health issues confronting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory.
- Experience in researching, collecting, analysing and interpreting information, evaluating options and formulating recommendations in a timely manner.
