  • Salary range: $102,260 to $109,259 per annum
  • Up to $5,000 relocation assistance and up to $5,000 repatriation assistance
  • 6 weeks annual leave + 10 days of personal/carer's leave

We are an Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty-con­trolled organ­i­sa­tion com­mit­ted to achiev­ing health equi­ty for Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple in the Bark­ly region. To achieve our goal, we employ over 100 peo­ple across a diverse range of roles in each of our key sec­tions of Health Ser­vices, Pub­lic Health, Stronger Fam­i­lies and Cor­po­rate Services.

 

About the Role:

 

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be required to provide high quality health care services to the population of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly communities. 

 

You will play an important role in delivering team goals to manage illness, promote well-being, maintain health systems, provide education and encourage community health action. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the effective delivery of child and maternal health services to Anyinginyi clients.
  • Undertake universal and extended child health checks and developmental screening opportunistically and as required.
  • In consultation with the multi-disciplinary team, assist with the development of care plans for children with chronic conditions.
  • Undertake case management and care coordination for children with complex needs where multiple specialist service input is required.
  • In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team and local stakeholders, coordinate and implement the Childhood Immunisation Program as per state schedule.
  • Provide reports and support to Territory Families (Department of Children and Families) for children in care.
  • Coordinate the delivery of ear health screening and associated services including the delivery of relevant staff education on child and maternal health.
  • Provide education and support to the multidisciplinary team to improve staff knowledge, skills and understanding of child health service delivery within the Anyinginyi primary health care setting.
  • Coordinate and facilitate relevant specialist visits.
  • Utilise electronic patient information management system (Communicare) to identify care needs (through use of recall and report lists) and document patient consultation in line with Anyinginyi’s procedures.
  • In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, provide education to clients and families on child health care.

About You:

  • Current Registered Nurse AHPRA registration
  • Familiar with the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual
  • Demonstrated knowledge, interpersonal skills and ability to sensitively communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values and beliefs.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and culturally appropriate.
  • Current certification to administer vaccines in the NT (or able to obtain)
  • Post Graduate Qualifications preferably in Remote Area Nursing or Child Health Nursing.
  • High level of communication, negotiation and consultation skills
  • Knowledge and experience monitoring health and safety standards
  • Current NT drivers' license 
  • Meet Public Health Orders for health industry workers in NT
  • Be full COVID -19 Vaccinated
