Wage Level: Nurses & Midwives Level N6Y1 – N6Y2 or Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners (ATSIHP) Level 6.1 – 6.3

Salary: $134,411 - $1139,788per annum or $107,427 - $114,282 per annum, dependent with skills & experience.

Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94p/a

Professional development incentive: Allowance of $1,300p/a

Reports to: Executive Manager Medical & Health Services

About us


Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi consists of four different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.


Anyinginyi's mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

As a small regional centre, Tennant Creek does not have the facilities one would find in larger country towns like Katherine or Alice Springs however it does provide for all the basics that most people require. There is a supermarket similar to a large IGA store, Post Office, clothing and furniture stores, Pharmacy, Newsagent, two banks (ANZ & Westpac), restaurants and coffee shops and four hotels/motels. About the Role


The Clinical Services Manager provides leadership, management, and coordination of comprehensive primary health care to the Anyinginyi Health Section, ensuring cultural integrity and high standards of clinical care and client flow. The position sits within the Health Services Section and leads a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals. The Anyinginyi Clinical Services Manager provides operational leadership to three clinics General, Men’s and Women’s clinics with staff operating in the clinic under a shared leadership arrangement with respective managers, furthermore, working collaboratively with all Anyinginyi Health Services and programs.


About you


The Clinical Services Manager must be Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner with a minimum of 5years’ post grade experience in Clinical Leadership and undergone training/ qualifications to provide Vaccinations within the Northern Territory.

A Sound understanding of the National Key Performance Indicators (nKPI) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary health care.  

A thorough understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture and traditions and ability to support the delivery of culturally responsive services and programs. The Clinical Services Manager must maintain proven extensive experience in clinical leadership and knowledge of quality and accreditation including RACGP accreditation processes and requirements for primary health care services.


Previous experience within Remote Communities or specifically the Tennant Creek Region will be highly regarded but not essential.


Please note: A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role. Please refer to NT Safe for further information.  


You will also need to possess the following: 


Essential skills and experience:


  • Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner with a minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience in Clinical Leadership and undergone training/ qualifications to provide Vaccinations within the Northern Territory.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with staff in reform practices of implementing new models of care and workforce development.
  • Proven extensive experience in clinical leadership and management of a team that resulted in the effective delivery of services to the community, including the ability to implement strategic plans, analyse and address complex issues, and prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of primary health care service delivery and systems as they relate to the Aboriginal community and a demonstrated commitment to Aboriginal Community Control.
  • Knowledge of quality and accreditation including RACGP accreditation processes and requirements for primary health care services, program evaluation and the use of evidence-based practices, financial and human resource management, consumer involvement and primary health care planning processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, collaborate and facilitate in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Current NT Drivers License.
  • All Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation employees must be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. 




  • Master’s in public health or postgraduate qualifications in Health Administration or a related field
  • Sound understanding of the National and Northern Territory Aboriginal Health Key Performance Indicators.
  • Special interests – Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, Renal Medicine, Sexual Reproductive Health, Child Health etc.
