Salary: $106, 769.96 - $118,348.25per annum.

Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94p/a

Professional development incentive: Allowance of $1,500p/a

Remote retention allowance of $1,500 after 1 year of services and $3,000 after 2 years service

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi consists of five different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit, Sports and Recreation, and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

About the Role

This position will Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the incumbent is required to work to address health care needs for Aboriginal people living in Anyinginyi’s four remote community service delivery areas (Wogyala, Corella Creek, Mungkarta and Nuramini).

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

• Triage and support Aboriginal and Torres clients in remote communities appropriately and respond promptly to all emergency health care needs.
• In collaboration with the outreach team, conduct opportunistic and scheduled health assessments, immunisations, and treatment of clients as per CARPA guidelines and as is within the scope of practice.
• Comply with all organisational policies and procedures.
• Support and promote teamwork through open communication, collaboration and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
• Receive and follow up on 81300/10950 EPC referrals to provide specified follow up services for clients and families who have completed preventative health assessments and/or GPMP/TCA.
• Actively maintain knowledge of the application of the MBS; ensure all EPC follow up visits are compliant with the referral and that recording and reporting of follow up services meets the criteria for MBS claiming.
• Advocate for rights and needs of individuals, families, and communities on health-related issues.
• Visit remote communities as required and as negotiated with the Clinical Services Manager or anyone acting in their capacity.
• Provide capacity building education and information sessions to communities where required.

About you

To be considered for this position, you must obtain an AHPRA Registration to practice as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner (Minimum Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice) and acquire clinical skills and experience needed to work competently in remote areas, with demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary team environment.

Experience working with an Aboriginal organisation or communities will be highly regarded but is not essential, provided you are able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the issues pertaining to Aboriginal Primary Health Care and the social determinants of health in our surrounding communities.

An exceptional communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills needed to tailor your approach to the needs of each individual and build effective relationships with our clients.
